DIY Leafy Mason Jars

By Amy Patterson

What’s more fun than lighting candles all over your house in the fall? Lighting candles in mason jars, of course! This DIY is perfect for fall for so many reasons – matte paint, leafy design and bringing the outdoors in (with natural stones). The best part is, it’s super easy and affordable!

Here’s what you’ll need:

Unbranded Mason Jars (we love you, Ball, but not for this project – try Kerr brand)

Leafy decal (or other if you’d prefer)

Paint (you can use spray paint or craft paint – spray paint is easier though)

If you chose craft paint, you’ll need brushes

Stones (or other filler for the bottom of the jar)

Candle

Finisher (twine or other)

Here’s what to do:

Apply your decal (make sure it’s secure and no paint can get under it)

Paint your jar (you’ll probably need at least two coats)

Carefully (after the paint is dry) peel off the decal

Fill the bottom with stones (enough so they can be seen through the decal’s opening)

Place your candle

Finish with some cool twine or other fabric around the top
