DIY Monogram Planter

By Morgan Saylor

Nothing greets guests like a 4 foot tall planter in the shape of your last name. Monograms are all the rage and if you’re looking for a way to add interest to the exterior entry of your home, look no further than this awesome DIY Cedar Monogram Planter Box by Michelle at www.ellerydesigns.com.

As she points out in her very detailed how-to, the possibilities of year-round décor don’t end, but even if you keep it simple with plants alone, you can’t go wrong!

This how-to calls for cedar wood (1X12 cedar for back of letter; 1X4 cedar for the sides; 1X3 cedar for the front; 1X6 cedar for the planter slats), 18 gauge 1 ¾ brad nails and a nail gun, gorilla glue, compound miter saw, potting mix, flowers, and maybe even someone handy with a saw. For the full steps on how to make this entry way interest piece, check out Michelle's detailed blog on making this beauty your own, featuring step-by-step pictures of the project start to finish!
