DIY Pumpkin Lanterns

By Amy Patterson

October is quickly coming to an end {and we’re not quite ready}! We thought a pumpkin DIY would be an appropriate send off. But really, these pumpkin lanterns are so pretty you’ll want to make them all over again for November!

Here’s what you’ll need:

Pumpkins {of all shapes and sizes – the more the merrier}

Knives of various sizes

Metal spoons

Drill and different drill bits

Masking tape

Pipe cleaners

Battery powered candles

Here’s what to do:

First, instead of cutting off the top of the pumpkin, {like you would normally when making a jack-o-lantern} cut off the bottom of the pumpkin. Try to get it so that it will rest flat.

De-gunk it.

Use masking tape to mark the holes {and sizes} you’re going to drill. Change it up! Mix up the drill bits to get different sized holes.

Wash the pumpkin off and use the pipe cleaner to get any residue left in the holes.

Insert candle(s).

Enjoy!
