We’re always looking for ways to go green around the home. Usually, homeowners use the most energy and have the most waste in the bathroom and in the kitchen. Today, we’re going to tackle the bathroom with these easy tips to save energy and money.

Cleaning – Don’t spend all your money on cleansers; a solution of one part vinegar to one part water will do the trick just as well. If you need a little more scrubbing power, add some baking soda (just beware of the overflow when mixing).

Recycle – Use recycled toilet paper brands – many of these have become more affordable and there are a lot of coupons available.

Towels – Use hand towels for drying hands instead of paper equivalents. You can take this a step further by replacing your cotton towels with bamboo versions.

Curtain – Use a PVC free shower curtain. PVC curtains release chemicals in the air when they’re broken down – not to mention it will help reduce exposure to potential chemicals.

Low-Flow – Switch over to low-flow faucets.
