Make Your House a Home

You put an offer down on a home.

You hear that your offer has been accepted.

Wait a minute; no one sits around thinking about these things.

No. You are trying to imagine yourself living in your new house. Where is the perfect spot to display your photos? What color should the guest bathroom be painted? All you know is that you want it to feel like your home. After all, why shouldn’t it? It will be yours! EEK! How exciting!?

But how do you make it look like yours? The first step is to establish what your style is. There are so many options out there in creating the feel that you want, so don’t feel like you must create something all your own. Look around. Pay attention to what you like and what you don’t like in other people’s homes. Side Note: you don’t need to share the negatives, especially if it is a friend or family member’s home. Look at magazines, visit home stores, check out various websites—Pinterest is a huge one, and see if you can’t gather some inspiration. Figuring out your style will help guide you in the establishing your unique look moving forward!

Our guide can help you further identify your personal style and give you direction on what to do with it. This free guide can be found by following this link:
