Millennial Pink… It’s a Thing!

Millennial Pink… It’s a Thing!

Over the course of the last month I’ve heard the term “Millennial Pink” used in a variety of settings—an article on HGTV, a fashion blogger, several pins on Pinterest. Not naturally being the trendiest person, you will meet, I thought, “can this really be a thing?”. My answer was quickly found after googling Millennial Pink; it is one of the hottest colors of the year!

The article I most enjoyed reading, sited at the end of this post, states that everyone can agree that this color is “timeless, yet very now”, however “not everybody agrees what color. It’s several colors but all of them are pink.” It is described as a pinkish skin tone or like an apricot-salmon color. Is this color ringing any bells for you? You may have seen it used by the big fashion designers (Gucci, Marc Jacobs, Balenciaga…) or in the latest HGTV Dream Home.

Make Your House a Home

You put an offer down on a home.

Wait a minute; no one sits around thinking about these things.

No. You are trying to imagine yourself living in your new house. Where is the perfect spot to display your photos? What color should the guest bathroom be painted? All you know is that you want it to feel like your home. After all, why shouldn’t it? It will be yours! EEK! How exciting!?

Decorating With Old Windows

Decorating with Old Windows

Poor windows… people just look right past them. Ha! I guess they were never intended to be pieces of art, apart from the stained-glass variety. However, they can be more than a light source in your dark dining room or more than a way to keep an eye on your kids in the backyard. They have a beauty to them, all their own.

You can find some particularly beautiful windows at antique stores or flea markets. If you come across one with lots of character, try placing it in a prominent location, such as an entry table or fireplace mantle. This can create something visually appealing as well as a conversation piece!
