Avoid Paper Piles

Avoid Paper Piles

Avoid paper piles blog copy.jpgIf the pencil and backpack displays at the front of your grocery store didn’t give it away, nor the longer commute to work then perhaps when you go over to your friend’s house, or even in your own home, you will notice piles of paper everywhere. From this you can deduce that school has started. The rush of artwork, “get to know you” worksheets, and graded homework starts to make its way to your dining room table and counters. I’m sure that all the parents are with me on this one, with each piece of “art” you are faced with the agonizing decision of throwing it away. But can you really do that? I mean your sweet little creation made his or her own sweet little creation… AHHH! It’s so hard! So, there they sit, all the beautiful(ish) creations in a pile until you can’t take it anymore. Then they get shoved in a drawer, closet, or <cough> trash can.

Guess what! That doesn’t have to be our future, people! We can avoid those paper piles with an easy and inexpensive display for your kid’s creations. Just tie some twine to two nails that are placed directly across from each other on a wall (picture a clothes line, like those found in back yards), add some mini clothes pins and voila! You now have an inexpensive, functional art display! This allows you to display your child’s art as you see fit. You can even have a rotational schedule where each week they pick their favorites to put up.

Not only does this keep school paper from taking over your life but it will make you and your child feel good to be able to display their hard work!

Here's an example I found of this same idea on Design Improvised:
