Thanksgiving Is Next Week, Let’s Have Some Lending Fun

BSMC1116Three of the most popular “Fun Songs” have been Happy by Pharrell Williams, Ain’t it Fun by Paramore and Shut Up and Dance by Walk the Moon. People just want to have fun like Cyndi Lauper sang. If this is the case, why are people staying in their stuffy and unsatisfying corporate mortgage jobs and feeling like they’re trapped, unhappy and unfulfilled?

Living in the real world of mortgage banking has tempered industry fun at most Banks and Mortgage Banking Operations. Why? People need to love what they do and feel like they are accomplishing something. How do you put the “Fun” back? (Some never had it before)

Choose the right Dance Partner

The right dance partner or in this case, company you work for is the key. First you need a company open to new products. Products like VA Renovation Lending, Jumbo, Doctor’s Loan Programs, Bank Statement Programs for Self Employed Borrowers, an FHA\VA\USDA Construction Loan Program for New Manufactured Home Purchases and Modular Homes Construction, a Mini Farm Program O\O income producing properties with 5-160 acres and having the ability to get loans from local Banks and Credit Unions through TPO Agreements.

Also, embrace FNMA and Government Loan programs others have dropped, USDA and FHA No Score loans, Manufactured Homes and others.

BUT…you must do them correctly and compliantly (FUN).

Have Fun with new products, technology and social media

Be proactive with introducing these loan products to your current and future business referral partners. Have fun with promoting ideas of who and how to have your partners help you sell them and teach them about the advantages for them to help. Teach them to have fun while doing it.

Show realtors and other referral partners how to use the newest tools. Apps like Simple Nexis for you and your partners to send out for you. Your partner can send the app to someone you haven’t met yet and they can enter their info. You have a prequalification to do even when you’re volunteering (Accomplishing something satisfying) with your work friends at a Habitat for Humanity Event or a Fun Run to raise money for a cause.

Be social with your social media, answer and thank people for “Liking” what you post. Respond and have fun with the social media.
