Make Your Own Dish Soap

By Amy Patterson

Washing dishes…a universal evil that is truly unavoidable. Unfortunately, we can’t make it any better for you…but we can save you money, help you save the environment and help you reduce the number of chemicals in your home! Yeah, it’s not quite as good as never having to wash dishes again…but you’ve got to start somewhere, right?

Here’s what you’ll need:

2 cups of castile soap

1 teaspoon of lemon juice or white vinegar (helps cut through grease)

½ cup of warm water

Empty dish soap bottle

Here’s what to do:

Pour all of the ingredients into the container.

Shake. Shake. Shake (insert catchy Taylor Swift tune here…)

That’s it!

Just shake each time before using as the ingredients may separate.

If you have a dishwasher…

Did you know that you could use vinegar in place of your rinsing agent?
