Bathroom Mirror And Our 203k Loans

By Kimberly Shane

Simple to Stunning: Bathroom Mirror

One of these days I am going to do this. Framing my bathroom mirror has been on my list of things to do in the last two places we’ve lived and now again in my current home. It is easy, inexpensive and makes a huge impact on the space! Follow along as I recount Shanty 2 Chic’s steps in updating the boring, builder-grade mirror that can be found in bathrooms everywhere. The best part is, this tutorial uses materials that won’t damage the mirror and aren’t permanent so it works even in rentals- or if you aren’t sure you will love the result. (But how could you not?)

To take on this project you will need access to a saw, or a friend with one! First, you need to measure your mirror then add an inch to each side so your frame will sit around the mirror instead of on the mirror itself. Then you go shopping to select the boards you would like to use. You will likely want to stain them so be sure to pick up the stain you prefer and grab some stainable wood filler while you are there, if you don’t already have some. But how will you attach the frame you ask? This is where Shanty 2 Chic’s big secret comes into play… Velcro command strips! These command strips are what makes the mirror frame removable and non-damaging.

Like I said, I’ve been wanting to do this update in, essentially, every home in which I’ve lived; one day I will take this on! Are you like me? Have you been dreaming of taking on a fixer upper practically your whole life but aren’t sure you can handle all the projects? They have professionals for that so don’t you worry! As for the financing, we are the professionals that can handle that! We offer a FHA 203K rehab loan which covers the estimated costs of the needed repairs and rolls them into the loan itself.
