Zip Your Lip!

Zip Your Lip!

Zip your lip blog.jpgI have a bad habit of talking to talk, just something to fill the silence. I’ve realized that sharing every thought that pops in my head isn’t’ best and sometimes, I should just not say anything. According to a video recently posted on Realtor.com this is something that sellers might want to consider doing as well! They mention 3 phrases that are commonly said by someone selling their home, that are better left unsaid.

“I’m not taking less than $______ for my home.”

Any offer is better than no offer, so don’t scare any buyers off just get that offer and negotiate later.

“Our house is in perfect condition”

Come on, nothing is perfect! Even if it is perfect for you, it may not be perfect for someone else and if they find something they feel is an imperfection then you could lose your buyer’s trust.

“We spent a ton of money on…”

It doesn’t matter what you spent on the custom features of your home, what matters is what your home is worth and that is what the buyer will offer.
