Chemical-Free Liquid Laundry Detergent

By Amy Patterson

Doing laundry is unavoidable – a necessary evil. But does it also have to be expensive and chemical laden – no, no we won’t accept that. We once did a post on how to make your own laundry detergent for 70 cents less per load than conventional detergents – the result was great, but it was also powdered detergent. So we thought we needed to do a DIY for all of you liquid laundry soap proponents out there!

AND it’s even scented.

Here’s what you’ll need:

2 gallon bucket

2 gallons of water

½ cup super washing soda

½ cup baking soda

¾ cup castile soap (Dr. Bronner’s – lavender)

30 drops of your favorite scented essential oil

Large spoon to stir

2 1-gallon glass containers (for storing the finsihed result)
